That's like saying there is nothing special about Usain Bolt's 9.58 100m but the time.
Usain isn't that fast, really......it is just that he is so light and skinny.

It’s crazy that his little son Igor that he’s holding afterward is only 2 months old

There's been some dumb arse things said on this site. Lord knows I've said a alot.

But I can't even think of an Oweo post as dumb as the one you made.

500+ kg is god tier. We aren't even the same species.

Also, for those thinking it's all juice, the nutrition, recovery, and flat out work it takes to get your central nervous system to cope with that pulling that off the floor is...insane.

I'm not a thor fan, his comments that losing one of the world's events was worse than losing his daughter tells me he's a POS. But he's a POS at the fringes of human potential.

Wow.
How long until the bar supporting the weights snaps? It has to be stressed every time it's used for lifts.
I just wonder what kind of super joints he has, and why the cartilage isn't compressed to wafter thin in his knees and lower body, And how his arms aren't stretched to the floor.

A lot goes into engineering those bars. None of the top lifters attempting those weights are doing so on a cheap bar, or even one that may be compromised.

Want to see something freaky? Rogue has a bar called the "Elephant Bar". Deadlift events at their contests often use that bar. It is a much different lift than a deadlift on a normal rigid bar due to the flex and whip.

Here is Thor's world record of 1,046lbs on the elephant bar:

Compare his attempt at 501kg on the elephant bar to the 510kg lift in the OP.

Yeah, but the power lifters in the back are mubbling: "muh straps". I am curious what his grip strength limited DL would be.

To Legend's posts "laughing" at the guy that thinks 1100+ pound pulls aren't impressive. Eddie is the only other human to pull 500 kg right?

There’s gotta be a point where it doesn’t matter how much you work out and how much strength you have: you just hit the limit of the ligaments literally getting ripped of the bone.

I ain’t “muh straps” at that poundage. Didn’t look like he was rocking an Inzer triple ply suit…

And yeah - I believe you are right on the 500 kg club.

Thor's grip isn't the best, but isn't terrible. I'd have to look around and see what he's pulled raw without straps. I know a couple of years ago he failed 900lbs strapless, but have no idea the circumstances of the lift.

Yeah, Eddie Hall is the only other to pull 500, which was huge jump on the then record.

Some sumo style powerlifter(s) will probably pull it in the coming months. That's a whole other debate, though.

To competitive power lifters it is. I am not saying they don't respect the lift but in their world if you can pull 550 but only have 400kg of grip you are a 400kg lifter. It is a bit of a vanity lift in their world, just like using bumper plates.

I mean, at those weights are they testing strength or grip? Grip will always be the weak link on top end deadlifting.

I don't think he was.

On a related note, Trey Mitchell from Texas is an American to watch for heavy deadlifts. He's just now, over the past year, started training in a suit. He hates it, but he will be able to get a good bit out of it. I think he's hit 470kg raw with straps, which may be the Strongman record. He tore is Achilles a couple years ago which set him back quite a while.
