My shock was not at her getting older, but at her having cancer. I didn't know, and it made me sad. I loved her on Seinfeld and then in Veep.

I hope she pulls through.

Or a lack of coloring. Avoiding color chemicals may be a part of her treatment as her immune system needs to concentrate on the cancer and just let her scalp do its thing.

That her hair was a deep dark brown or black at 57 may indicate a really good colorist matching that color to her skin tone.

Even with the gray hair and chemo she still looks better than 90% of candid celeb shots. You'd see her on the street and think she was an attractive middle aged woman. You see a lot of those pics of supposedly hot actresses and think WTF happened?

Does chemotherapy turn hair gray like that?

She probably stopped coloring her hair because she's being treated for frickING CANCER.

ETA: And her hair is obviously short, so it probably fell out and is growing back in. But please, let's worry about the color.

That is shocking because she was an extremely well preserved woman for her age. (had?) a kick arse body - better than many women in their 30s.

Um, she's also a fricking movie star and could have her hair done like that for a role she's filming

She's very pro socialized healthcare as she claims not everyone is as lucky as her. Wonder how much money she's given away to healthcare causes.

She's still holding up well. Her face is a little thin but not emaciated. She put on some normal clothes and a pair of earrings, which is more effort than a lot of people in good health make. If she beats this, a year from now you'll see her looking pretty much like she always has.

It does all sorts of stuff to hair. My sister always had straight blonde hair. So light it almost looked white. It all fell out and grew back in curly and dark brown. Eventually it got long enough to not curl and has lightened up almost to the color before.

My wife’s aunt was always a redhead. Hers is coming back curly and silver.

Yes. My moms hair not only turned fully gray/white but also came back with curls after her chemo was done. She had straight brown hair with a little gray before her treatment.

It could be for a movie. But also when some people start turning gray, it happens pretty quickly.

Depending on the drug used, the hair may or may not fall out. If it does, it usually grows back different. I work with a lady who did not have cancer and her hair went totally gray in a couple of years. So, it could be either situation.

First it falls out but when it grows back it grows back Gray because she's 57 years old and she can't use hair dye
