Had a panic attack this morning

I was exhausted last night so I passed out early in my motel bed. I had a flight to catch at 10:30 this morning.
I woke up and it felt like I had been sleeping for a while. I look toward the window and it looks like daylight through the white curtain. I check my phone and it’s after 11:00.
I immediately jump out of bed and just start scrambling to pack my bag. I knew I missed my flight but for some reason still felt compelled to rush around in a state of panicked confusion. My heart rate was hitting its limits. Missing a flight isn’t the biggest deal in the world, but at that moment it felt like I had forgotten I was getting married that day or something. It was surreal.
After a solid three or four minutes running around with my heart pounding out of my chest, for some reason I decided to take a peek out the window - it was still night time. Outside my window were bright lights which made it appear like daylight when looking out through the white window curtain. Talk about a sense of relief.
Edit: I know this wasn’t a true “panic attack” as defined by medical professionals. Jesus Christ I was just using it as an expression.

Sounds like you realized you were in a Motel instead of a Penthouse.

Doesnt sound like a real panic attack. A bad panic attack will make you think you are having a heart attack.
I had one once while tripping on acid in a South America. I couldnt move my hands or my mouth. I called a cab to bring me to the ER, and stumbled in saying " im having a heart attack". They did some test, and gave me a shot of anti anxiety drugs, and i was good to go.

I'd panic too if I had to stay in a motel.
But that's not what a panic attack is.

That happened to me a few times in college. We had cross country practice at 6:00 or so most mornings. I slept through my alarm a time or two and got reemed out by my coach so I would wake up in the middle of the night and freak out thinking I had missed practice. One of the times I managed to make it out to my car and pull out of my parking space before stopping to look around and realize it was still dark outside. I looked down at my phone finally (don’t know why I didn’t before then) and it was 3 AM. I was both relieved and pissed.

That is not a panic attack. That is a moment of panic.
I had my first attack at the age of 24. I had to go to the emergency room because I was convinced I was having a heart attack with a side of tremors. I was sure that I was dying.
I am not running around throwing things into a suitcase during an attack. I'm crying and puking and shaking, and afterwards I have to sleep for hours.
Sorry you were freaked out and your adrenaline went into overdrive.

I used to get legit panic attacks which were horrible. Completely debilitating. Non functional. I was on meds for them which worked but when I stopped using them that in and of itself was horrendous.

Sounds like you were given some bad drugs

How did you know my flight was to Denver?
You’re about to give me another panic attack.
