People starting on a weight loss journey simply need to go outside and walk. They don’t need douchey trainers making them do medicine ball slams and all the other shite they just saw on Instagram and want to try with their 58 year old overweight clients.

Gyms have been around for thousands of years.

Nice “I work out” brag.

You got your mental gymnastics workout in, try to find a creative way to work out at home, like kicking rocks.

I agree with you. I always went to my gym on off-peak hours, so it was never crowded. Also, my gym isn’t a trashy, nasty place. It has sanitation stations in several locations.

Which still doesn’t stop people coughing or sneezing with several people in the vicinity and it’s prolonged contact if you’re actually doing a full workout (30+ minutes).

And in most gyms, machines are within inches of each other.

Just read today about an outbreak at a choir practice/rehersal, where particulate was spread with prolonged contact. A gym wouldn’t be any different.

Get some kettlebells, a yoga mat, and run outside.

The fatties sure do get mad when someone talks about exercising.

The exclamation point should be inside the parentheses. You shouldn’t make points if you don’t know jackshit about where to put them.

That's not a hard and fast rule, FWIW.

I've done aerobic every damn day and am already sick of it.

I once had a great home gym: soloflex, several dumbbells, bar and free weights, and a treadmill. Sold it all a few years ago. Wish I had it today.

Wonder how many people are still making fun of people that buy Pelotons now?

I hear their sales are through the roof right now.

Disagree. I’ve seen more people out taking walks and exercising the last two weeks than I’ve ever seen since living where I am.

I live on a very low traffic street. My home office window is in front of my house. The amount of foot traffic in my neighborhood has gone up 50x the normal rate. Kids riding bikes, couples walking together at all hours, parents pushing strollers, etc. It really is good to see.

This would certainly be a fun thing to debate in its own thread.

I’m not big on biking so I wouldn’t be crazy about it. But makes sense.

But there’s so many free resources right now where people with classes are doing free online instruction. The yoga teacher that works with the Louisville Ballet is doing this and it’s been great.

The reality is everybody knows that one nasty motherfricker at the gym that never wipes anything down and has no respect for space. That’s why gyms are closed.

Peloton has a ton of off bike content as well. Yoga classes, pilates, boot camp, cardio, strength, etc, etc.

They are offering 90 days free trial of their Peloton app which gives you access to all the classes.

Thor himself (Chris Hemsworth) is offering a 6 week free trial of his fitness app Centr as well. Sadly I don't think it's him working out (bummer I know...many of us women would just watch for that )
