So I message a guy on Craigslist about a ps4 for a buddy of mine , he declines his offer , no big deal, so I text back "it's cool, have a good fourth" to which he replies

Agree OP. Sick of all these frickers who are too cool or edgy to celebrate a holiday- regardless of the origin. If they hate the 4th or a religious holiday in this country they should move elsewhere.

You should. Maybe not the jerk off to the flag deal but America is a special place. We definitely have issues and problems but there isn't anywhere that has the freedoms and opportunities we do. The fourth doesn't have to be a day of fireworks and Barbque but it should be a time to be thankful for a great country.

Kind of reminds me of my black friend who wears USA themed attire and gets crap from his own people for wearing it. He served in the military. but maybe this guy is just a foreigner like others alluded?

Problem here is that "celebrate" is defined as 'getting shite faced, bbqing, laying by a pool & watching pyrotechnics for 6 minutes 45 seconds. By that definition, 99% of us "celebrate" the 4th. But is that really paying homage to your country & the ones that paved the way?
