The kids that still live at home are 12 and 16, the other daughter is 22 and has a 2 year old. I'll wait for David to respond with how he wants to proceed with Christmas. Thank you all again. Our hearts are broken.
Heartbreaking for those girls.

Well, on the GoFundMe, a ton of people mentioned "TigerDroppings", "TD.com", and "The OT", so it wouldn't be all that hard to find...

I saw all of the condolences and generosity on the Go Fund me page. Wasn't hard to figure out. I wanted to thank all of you for your help.

Regardless of your choice, it is not ok to turn into amateur detectives and pour over his social media, arrest record and post history.

I can't imagine a hospital is "off the hook" as long as the patient is discharged.
A hospital is never forced to provide an autopsy regardless of the circumstances. However, many will offer them free of charge for patient families, especially if it’s an academic hospital.
Additionally, these autopsies will often be of little use for malpractice cases (often providing the hospital with documentation of previously unknown comorbidities such as coronary artery disease) and will likely not include ancillary testing such as toxicology. If a family is just wanting to know why the person died, then of course it can be helpful if there’s an obvious anatomic cause of death such as a PE.
If they are interested in pursuing a malpractice case, then it’s best to hire a private pathologist who is not affiliated with the hospital to perform the autopsy and review the medical records. This is an expensive process, so many end up choosing not to go this route. Hopefully an honest malpractice attorney would have a better idea up front if there is a case or not.

I don’t post often but let’s all continue to support this family through difficult times. Even though a goal is reached, there will be additional needs over the next few weeks. I only have a son and have no idea how to or where to start purchasing his girls something nice to wear when honoring a mother and a wife, but I’m more than willing to contribute additionally for something like this. ronnisdsinbox@gmail.com

We're full of shite on here 99% of the time.
But that 1% comes through when it matters.

When your mom let me in the backdoor in a state where sodomy is illegal. Meanie!

I don’t know if you have anyway to contact him, but can you check on David/Eric? He posted here again this morning and seemed to not even remember setting up the GFM. Also said he had to go to the ER last night. Not to sound cruel, but there are a lot people who are wondering if the money will be used for its intended purpose because of speculation around his previous substance abuse issues.

As soon as I know the arrangements, I'll let you know. They are doing the autopsy today as far as I know.
