$13,000 in 3 hours

Hopefully when OP gets up from his nap and sees this he will feel at least some of the weight lifted off of his shoulders. Can’t imagine what he is going thru.

TD is awesome.

I don’t even care. If it’s a scam, one call to Amex makes it right. It’s not a scam though. I’m pretty good at feeling things out. Something tells me this poor man is broken.

Less than $1,500 to go until the $15k goal is met.

Sorry to hear about your wife. Please get the suicide thoughts out of your head. It's a temporary fix for you but That will only further hurt your children. They need you to be there more than ever now.

PRetty sure every time I've hit refresh on the GO Fund me it's $1k higher than it was. Getting more misty eyed about it each time I hit refresh just imagining CD's reaction when he see's it.

huh? So y’all brought him back in the car?

My great grandfather passed away in Lithia Springs, Georgia in 1985 and around 1979 or so he made myself and an uncle 2 years older than me promise when he died one of us would make certain he got home to Anniston Alabama and not to pay an undertaker to take him there. He wanted us to drive him.

When he died my Uncle called me and asked if we were going to Anniston...I told him if we could we were...the body was at the hospital but going to be transported to a funeral home in Lithia Springs. We met the hearse with the body when it arrived and told the driver our plans...he of course pointed out what we were proposing was against the law but saw we were deadly serious so hi called the funeral home director who also told us we would be breaking the law. We left and told my grandfather what had happened and he called the Sheriff, an old friend of my Grandfather, and told him what had happened and he told all 3 of us to meet him back at the funeral parlor. The director was not happy about it be we took the old man back to Anniston, leaned against the back door of my Grandfathers station wagon with me in the seat next to him...the dead man was the only one wearing a seat belt. We never thought to lay him in the back of the station wagon LOL.....

There are no cars on Bald Head Island, NC, except for emergency vehicles and the only way onto the island is by passenger ferry or personal boat. There was an ambulance waiting at the marina to take him to the regional hospital. We mainly wanted to get off the island because of what had just happened, but my mother-in-law also didn't want his body to make the trip back to the mainland alone.

I didn't know how common this was. Family friend in Auburn passed away this past Sunday after battling an infection from a knee surgery for a month.
