Typically I will lift with my shoe and then knock it back down with my shoe, no way I am touching that lid.

I very, rarely have to take a dump when I am not at home. Even when working 17 hr days.
I don't touch the seat with my rear. I do the balancing act. I used to sit, but after reading about practices in different parts of the world I realized I could just squat and avoid any contact.
THE logical default position of the seat is UP.

I , for the first time, was at a bar that only had unisex bathrooms.. no urinals.. just stalls.
I just walk up , kick up the seat, and start pissing.
A few seconds later a female voice sharply states im an a-hole for not closing the stall door behind me.
I'm not sure what they expected.

If it is co-ed because there is only one restroom then I will lift the seat with my foot or a piece of tp.
It it is a converted m/f to co-ed at some place like Starbucks or Moo & Brew because they want to be hip then I piss all over the seat.
