Yeah you don’t want to google the video where the lady falls in the escalator when the floor panel flipped up.

Listen, not a year goes by, not a year, that I don't hear about some escalator accident involving some bastard kid which could have easily been avoided had some parent - I don't care which one - but some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator.

I used to work on escalators, them things have the potential to frick you up bad and possibly kill you. That being said, escalators have safety devices every on there everywhere that should prevent these accidents. Most of the time I would say it was caused by a lazy maintenance man who jumped some of the safeties to keep it running.
