That's good, because EE's have a piss poor pass rate for both the FE and PE.

You seem like the type of guy that thinks you're hot shite for passing a couple of tests. You're not special.

We already know you're the type of douche that goes "not an engineer without a license." fig.

Keep whining on behalf of some guy that is unwilling to demonstrate his proficiency in the field.

He doesn't need to. He's not doing any work in any sort of professional fashion.

So what did he do?

He did math. He is being fined for doing math, that's it.

There are plenty of engineers in the state of Oregon that are practicing engineering without a licence. For example, you can't take the PE exam for 4 years after graduating, per Oregon law. But those engineers still have cards and titles and degrees that say engineer.

The fine that Oregon hit this guy with was in retaliation. Retaliation is actually against the law. Not doing math.

ETA: It's 4 years for the PE, not FE.

Actually, it's the opposite of that. The exams test minimum competency and you don't have to be Einstein to pass them. However, to call yourself an engineer, you are required by law to demonstrate that minimum proficiency.

The smartest person I have ever known and the person who made me go into engineering never got his license. He also never got fined for being a dumbass and sent a government agency an email violating a well-known law in the profession while arguing his wife's traffic ticket like a tool. Stay salty, Cheryl.

Nope. Lots of engineers in the oil field who don't have PEs and call themselves exactly that with zero fines. You're talking out of your arse.

That story has nothing to do with the quote, so congrats.

Because up until recently it was never a requirement to graduate...

I am sure you know that.

By law, he is most certainly not.

Job opportunities with the State of Oregon DOT:

Engineering Specialist 2 - Pavement Management Technician

Minimum Qualifications:

An Associate's degree in Engineering technology from a community college or technical school of engineering and two years of experience directly related to engineering.

Should Oregon fine the State of Oregon $500?

Think of it more like traffic court. When you get a ticket, you have the right to go before the court and argue against your guilt in the matter. If you know you were speeding or thought it wasn't worth your time, you just pay the ticket and go about your day. That's what he did.

Holy shite dude. Your lack of understanding of constitutional law is quite impressive. You know that one has to suffer and actual injury under the law as applied to have standing to lodge a 1st amendment challenge. That's what he did when they imposed the penalty. You don't lodge a constitutional challenge in an administrative hearing in front of the engineering board. You must be an engineer.
