We've stayed at Jetty East in Destin. It's the condo right before the Jetties on Holiday Isle. Very nice b/c the majority is just residential so not really crowded like a lot of the Destin beaches are. The pool is a very nice setup right next to the beach.

I've never stay at Waterscapes but my issue with it is that all units are beachside and that's our preference.

On another note, anyone see VRBO changed their layout? It sucks.

I really don't know BUT I've been 4 times and never had an issue with the water. Well, strong surf kept us out BUT it was still super clear!

Inlet Reef or Beachhouse in Destin. With kids, I'd go to Beachhouse and get a first floor condo near the pool. Large, un crowded beach, very near Sandestin. Fairly reasonable price.

Try Watersound Beach on 30A east of Watercolor. It has a mile of the best beach on 30A. The HUB opens this spring and is located adjacent to Watersound. The HUB will feature Mile Marker 15 Tacos and Tequila, Red's Fried Chicken and Biscuits, Mr. Freeze among other shops and restaurants. The HUB will also have live concerts on its outdoor stage. The area should make for a good family vacation. You can probably find a condo or house on VRBO.

We do Watercolor every summer but moving to Seagrove this year. Tired of dragging beach shite on a bike. Watercolor is great if you don't mind not being near the beach.

Growing up going to GS/OB i would say anywhere on 30A is where you want to be. Drive the extra hour/+.

Bump on this.

Going down this way. Two younger boys, 3 and 6. Looking for community that has market, restaurant, coffee shop, etc that is a short walk for unit. Close access to a big pool, not too far from beach.

Looking at Santa Rosa now, any other suggestions.

Just don't want to have to load up in the car to do much, or get on and off an elevator.

Got to VRBO, check out that site, also in Gulf Shores, any of the Phoenix are nice, Caribe, Romar Place is nice, not as new as the others I mentioned, but a nice place. You have a lot of options. Price will be higher because of it being the summer, but still great options.
