TD TOM, Balbeisi can't live behind you as his back yard boarders on the Vermilion River. Additionally, he has no children living in his home so your complaint about kids throwing loud parties is inaccurate.

In Lafayette, I'll second Rainey Redmond. If you don't mind a short drive, the folks at Iberia Marine on Hwy 90 Frontage Road in New Iberia are fantastic mechanics

Bay is really fresh right now. If you have a boat, best bet is to hit bayous in Marsh Island to crab and chase redfish. Can get live shrimp at Dockside, a great store at entry to the State Park.

Compression fracture to L1 vertebrae Holy Saturday last year. Fell off ladder doing work at camp. No boat for 4 months. Was horrible!

Inlet Reef or Beachhouse in Destin. With kids, I'd go to Beachhouse and get a first floor condo near the pool. Large, un crowded beach, very near Sandestin. Fairly reasonable price.
