The amphitheater at seaside is yeti central particularly when there's a concert.

My wife and I had all kinds of fun saying yetttttttti every time the 5 foot executive types in loafers without socks walked by with their coolers, yeti caps and wine glasses in tow.

Ok we were buzzed.

Rosemary/ Alys are leaps and bounds above any place to stay in GS/OB. Red Bar/Baytown>>>Florabama.

Sloppy pussy available all around BR so Florabama is old hat.

Dauphin Island doesn't get enough credit. Not much in the way of restaurants and bars but great place to chill & relax, and a closer drive.

Orange Beach all day. Just returned from Destin. Golf is better in destin, but thats about it.

Florabama blows everything out of the water when it comes to nightlife.

Orange Beach is significantly closer to LA and cheaper to stay in a waterfront unit / house.

This is true, but Florabama is not exactly ideal entertainment for a lot of people, at least for most vacations.

Galveston

Nah, Galveston's problem is that it's overdeveloped and industrial looking. Dauphin Island has the opposite problem. Neither is the place to go if your main goal is impressing the Stuart Hall crowd.

If you play golf, 99% would prefer Destin/30A over OB/Gulf Shores.

I honestly have never heard of 30A until I read it on here a few months ago. What town is it actually?

I'm from FL and never heard of 30A (in the sense it's referred to on here) until I kept reading about it on here.

It seems like the gulf coast areas go in and out of favor in cycles. To me it is mostly based on the condition of the places to stay. If an area gets a bunch of new condo facilities it seems to attract better people and better people makes for a better place.

I stayed at one of the newer Phoenix places last year at Orange Beach and we immediately decided to book it again this year. If we only have half as much fun as last year I'll be happy as a pig in shite.

Florabama>>>>every bar on 30A

Got to be shitting me. Florabama is OK but that is the most overrated place in the south.

The water is prettier the farther you go east. The water is just not that consistently pretty to me in Orange Beach/Gulf Shores.

Convenience wise, Pensacola Beach is the easiest to get too. It's 15 minutes off the interstate. You can get there just a little quicker than you can Gulf Shores/Orange Beach and it has prettier water. It's 1 hr closer than Destin. There is crap for shopping though if you have the wife.

30A (Rosemary Beach/Seaside/Grayton/Watercolor/Seagrove) is the best thing around, it's just a pain to get too. But it's awesome!!

I've since seen one or two of those stickers. But I'm on the total other side of the state, "30A" is nearly 7 hours away. Might as well be another state (and it pretty much is).
