My expectations have been lowered so much I'll give someone a dollar or 2 just because they got the frick up out of bed and came to work as a sandwich artist.

They've won.

Just left BurgerFi.

Nice girl took my order. Swiped my card. No place to tip.

Great food.

I take it you’ve never eaten at Company Burger. Double the price of five guys and less quality burger.

Definitely. They do have great peanuts that are free though. Yeah I know the cost is built in the price of the burgers.

The local 5 guys closed up a year or so ago. It was sandwiched between two CFA’s. One CFA closed when the new one was built. But they opened the old one back up because they stayed slam at the new one. Strange that a 5 guys couldn’t make it in that location.

I quit tipping at any and all places not sit down dining after they were advertising $15 min wage during the pandemic. They're genuinely just being greedy and asking for more money.

My favorite is the subway by my office. Husband & Wife owners, and their 2 kids help out after school. And every time the explain the tipping options on the card reader

Yeah it's been like that for at least a couple of years. It's everywhere. It's ridiculous because

1) You aren't delivering the food to my table, you're not refilling my beverage, you're not busing my table, etc

2) Why would I tip you before I even know what the quality of the meal you are going to give me? Why would I tip you $5 only to find out you burnt my meal?

5 guys is OK but not for the money. My wife use to get it for us fairly regularly until I saw a receipt. We haven't had it in a couple of years and I imagine it is worse now.

Why is she getting it rather than making sandwiches?

yes, I did. Sometimes these people deserve a little extra imo

Same goes for housekeepers at hotels

I always felt like tipping at a restaurant is a commission based upon what is sold and not service. It’s why I don’t understand the percentage increasing with rising food costs.

Hence why I don’t understand tacking on higher tips for a large party.

Add in a tip plus a 4% charge for the card? I am going back to cash.

Last time I went to Sonic, had to set it straight with some baw, they asked if I wanted my change. I said Hell yeah. Why wouldn't I want my change?
