The men who serve as tomb guards and receive the ribbon for their service, those ribbons have as much respect within military circles (for those to recognize it) as some of the highest decorations given.

Truly great young men, but I'd like to give you all some perspective...
They don't do this for you, me, the President, themselves, the flag, the government, honor, glory, adoration, the country, or any of that...
They do it for their brothers and sisters in arms. That those that are found but are not identified are treated with greater respect than any politician, billionaire, yogi, movie star or other brand of cretin that did not pay the ultimate price for what they believed was the greatest hope for humanity, our country.
They don't do this for you, me, the President, themselves, the flag, the government, honor, glory, adoration, the country, or any of that...

For anyone who has never been to Arlington National Cemetery, go. It will be one of the most moving experiences of your life. I was there a few years ago when a retired general was being laid to rest. Full military honors with 21 gun salute, taps and a horse drawn casson. One of the most moving events I have ever witnessed.

The changing of the guards is hands down one of the coolest things I've ever seen in person. Definitely planning to bring my son once he's old enough to understand and respect what's going on.

I wasn't referring directly to guarding the tomb. I couldn't care any different whether it was guarded or not. My point is that all of the negative in our nation has tradition.
