It's like you ignored part of my comment that directly addressed this... but since you willfully missed it, i'll gladly post it again.

And believe it or fricking not, but "terroir" is pretty fricking irrelevant when you dictate your environmental conditions almost entirely. But i wouldn't expect a user to understand the subtle difference between an organic or salt based fertilizer fed plant or soil vs hydroponics, absolutely does not mean observable differences are not there. Yet to hear a non grower discussing the benefits of mycorrhiza, trichoderma, or other beneficial bacteria while smoking... does not mean i'm not dictating my root zone microbiology to the nth degree.
