I know people who take these "advisor" consulting gigs and go to hotspots where they cruise around like they are on vacation. There ain't no way I am going to the freaking Congo without being armed and having a non-local security force escorting me.

Are you kidding? Ak47s are dirt cheap there. It's literially cheaper than a haircut there. I've heard plenty of times people have multiple ones because they're so cheap.

What happens a lot, or so I've been told, is the UN people aren't allowed to carry a lot of times. Then their security for the most part are 'locals' and those locals are not reliable. So they can be paid off, don't show up, etc. and then the UN peeps are effed.

I think you'd be surprised. I've known people who did this sort of stuff. They generally were liberal, sure, but they weren't the bleeding heart SJW types that people on here assume all liberals are.
