I'm telling my age here, but funding education was the selling point for starting the Lottery! Then it was gambling!

Ask the unions.

Public schools will never be fixed. They are done. Just go to one for a few hours. They are done.

Our legislature is actually doing something good for once.
You realize they are just doing what their constituents are asking right?
I agree with my legislators passing this bill. And the majority in the state do as well.
Your crying about it isn't going to change a thing and thank goodness. You are a minority on this issue and the grooming in schools can be lessened by these actions.

Isn't that in the liberal rules playbook?

You're argument is you support allowing civil servants to groom kids. Great argument, real winner.

A teacher is at school to teach. Nothing more. That's what we pay them to do.
So when a confused kid comes to a teacher crying, the teacher is supoosed to just say F off, not my problem?

They shouldn't have to guess what a confused individual wants to be called each day
If only they could ask...then they would not have to guess!

And they shouldn't get in trouble for calling them bybtheir birthday certificate name
Where is this happening?

I hate this “fixing the real problems” argument you people use. It’s so fricking stupid. People can focus on more than one thing at a time. Also, legislation isn’t going to fix this state’s problems.

Meh... if the unions had their way they would get a lot more...

They also ask for good schools, roads, low crime, etc.
THIS is what the legislature chooses to focus on.
That is weird and problematic.

More and more, your lack of intelligence and comprehension proves how bad your education was.
Sad.
You are a poster child for how bad our schools have become.

quote:Because that's not the school's fricking job. If an administrator or teacher thinks a student has emotional or mental issues that they need to talk to someone about, then notify the parent. Give the parents a list of providers that may be able to help and leave it up to the parent to decide whats right for their kids. I don't want some activist teacher propagandizing my kids behind my back because little Johnny decided to play dolls with a female classmate at recess one day or because Jane would rather play football with the boys.
And if a kid thinks he or she is sexually confused... well, ain't no school employees or trusted teachers or cousnelors going to be able to listen to them about it... they are on their own!

OK, let’s pass some laws that make violence illegal, makes kids learn more, and change the land infrastructure is built on

Dumping our income tax system and fixing our property tax system would go a long way towards fixing our problems. Just for starters.

Name the schools where this is happening.
Go on.

And the bill allows you and every other teacher to make that choice.
Posted on 4/26/23 at 3:58 pm to LSUFanHouston
It’s happening in other states. What is bad with getting out in front of something that will inevitably be happening here?
