I bought my 9 foot slab for my outdoor kitchen from Stone in BR.

It's 3 cm and has many "veins" that run through it.

Price will depend upon what you want to look at for a very long time.

This is the "importer". The rest of them out there buy from these guys.

Cheap when you cut out the middle man.

Yes, they do.

They also have a wall of business cards of recommended installers and fabricators.

North Lion stone in Nola and Northshore if you want another option. They have a pretty large yard to choose from.

More Veins = More expensive.

"contractor grade" aka $10-$30/sf looks more like

where as higher end granite will look more like

basically less symmetry = more money

The first time I used them they were great. The next two houses went terribly. Every issue I had it was a pain getting them back out to fix it. I got rid of them and use Assured Flooring now. I've done 7 houses with Assured and have had issues here and there but it's taken care of immediately.

I sold wholesale granite/ stone in the past. If it's in your budget, go Quartzite. Its a natural stone like marble and granite but is the highest quality. It is the hardest stone, and is great for kitchens. The manufactured stone looks shitey AF. There are basic granites (New Caledonia, Ubatuba [the green one], Santa Cecilia) that you can get done pretty well for like 50 a Sqft. The places that can install for 25$ are bs. They nickel and dime you and get the price up to around 40$. Good luck, I hope you aren't planning on living during the remodel. It sucks arse.

concrete that bitch. It's a little messy, but looks awesome if you stain it to match your floors or compliment them. I wanted to do that with my new build, but we really like the Ubatuba granite on white cabinets.

Also, go to the slab yard and look at the stone yourself. The samples the fabricator will have are basically worthless, as there is so much variety in the stone. One slab of Santa Cecilia can look completely different from another. And there are lots of different varieties as well, (Santa Cecilia light, Santa Cecilia wave, Etc.)
