I realize not all pits are bad but I don't trust that breed at all.

Sorry.

So still 2.5 million that didn’t kill anyone? Gotcha.

57 dog attack deaths & 645 disfigurements in 2017, led by pit bulls

Pit bulls accounted for 88% of disfigurements
The 989 dogs who killed or disfigured people in 2017 accounted for 645 total disfigurements, 14 more than the previous record of 631 who were disfigured in 2016.

Of the disfigurements, 570––four fewer than in 2016––were disfigured by pit bulls, meaning that pit bulls accounted for 88% of the dog attack disfigurements reported in 2017, down from 91% in 2016. But the 2017 disfigurement toll may well rise in the coming weeks.

Also, there are 2 million - 3 million pit bulls in the US versus 200 million - 300 million guns in the US

So there are plenty enough guns to wipe out the species. Open season on Pittbulls.

What’s the % of those deaths owned by incompetent, uneducated and irresponsible owners?
Just curious how many of those deaths are by dogs that are sent to discipline school, kennel trained, properly given affection and attention by responsible adults. I’ll bet you my pension, it’s quite low.

Of course.

Death is a problem everywhere.

Some people don’t deserve these dogs. They are aggressive if not properly trained.

But there are 2.5 million (according to your numbers) that did nothing wrong at the same time.
So where’s the real problem?

I'll bet you my pension that most other dog breeds won't kill people if they don't get all of these things.

Pitbull is not a breed. It’s a type.

American Pitbull Terrier is the breed.

Plenty of breeds fall under the term “Pitbull” though.

For example my dogs are American Staffordshire, which falls in the Pitbull catagory.

Bull terriers are also under this catagory.

Also, this is another case of a bad owner neglecting a dog and not properly training them.
There are still more terrible humans than dogs.
Just another bad dog with a bad owner magnified by the media.
Let’s talk about the million of Pitbull types that only loved on humans the same day of this attack.

But it’s the narrative, let’s focus on whatever negative story we can come up with, because good stories aren’t entertaining.

The negative obsession and butthurt over the Pitbull type is comical.
It’s never going away, so better just start attacking humans who aren’t comptentent enough to own a dog.

Sorry about your micro-penis dude.

frick the breed, or "type".

There are way too many other breeds without the potential for death and destruction that these do. Get a lab or a setter or something.

I volunteered at a shelter and it’s all pit bulls pretty much. Every person to a man would always say something like “pit bulls get such a bad rap.” And I would say why do you think that is? Have you ever read a story about a golden retriever Rippon a kids face off?

With all the hoops we have to jump through to buy a gun (notwithstanding a constitutional amendment to the contrary) and guns can’t even wake up one day and decide to chew someone’s face off, no matter how poorly they are maintained. Maybe pit bull purchasing and possession should be equally restricted.

OK tough guy. Tell me why you like this breed or type?

Honestly tell me it has nothing to do with their reputation as being badasses.

What personal inferiority are you compensating for?
