Would you consider it rational to hate or ban an entire type of dog based on less than .5% of them actually attacking or killing?
I regard pitbulls the same way I regard venomous snakes, lions, or crocodiles. I don't hate them, but due to the qualities I listed above, I don't think they should be pets.
Deaths from venomous snakes, lions, or crocs is probably pretty low too. But as a soceity we've still realized they don't make good pets and should be avoided.
I avoid deadly animals, and I consider them deadly animals.

You you can come in here throw shite at the wall but you cant back it up? how about this...at least I posted some facts that back up what I said.
I said you are wrong and I proved it
You cant prove your claim
You have no credibility.

You didn’t post anything that proved what you said. You think you did, but you didn’t.

Where do you stand on LSU having a live mascot as a pet? Just curious. Really not trying to argue with you any longer.
I love it. But there’s always a chance of it getting out or mauling a trainer, right?

That’s why I respect you, even if we don’t see eye to eye on the issue.

Mike isn't a pet. He's kept in a highly secure facility with tons of precautions taken to prevent him from coming in contact with society. Set up a pitbull exhibit in the BR Zoo. I'm fine with it.
Don't be obtuse.

So I think we can all agree that it's a fact the pit bulls only make up 5% of the dog population in the US...right?
But you're claiming that there are more pit bulls than any other breed in the world?
Prove it

You posted something about % of dogs in the United States based on ads for dogs. While there may be some facts in that article, it does not prove that pitbulls aren’t the most type of dogs in the world. So again, you did not prove it.

ETA: BTW...why arent any of your fellow pit bull apologist coming to defend your claim......no one wants to back you up...that should tell you something.

I was just saying. He is a pet though.
And he can defiantly snap and attack a trainer or vet. And there’s always a chance, even if very slim he could get out.
I was just curious because you mentioned those other animals as pets.
If someone owned an alligator, but it was in an area as secure as Mike, would that be okay?
In regard, I think my dog is just as secure, well trained and I’m a responsible owner who never lets them leave my side. My point is, the breed is perfectly fine with me, but you don’t agree, but you’re not me.
We can agree to disagree. We can have opinions without the insults.

That’s a bit of a non-sequitur. Not that I expect much from a pitbull owner.

Less than .5% of pitbulls have attacked or killed. So statistically speaking, that is not even close enough to consider banning all pitbulls.
The number of AR-15's that are used in murders is a whole lot lower than .5% yet that isn't stopping a bunch of gun grabbers from wanting them banned

You know Shannon is a male name too. You have a 50/50 shot of the pics not turning out as you hoped.

That is correct. Both are irrational and not the actual problem.

Also, this is another case of a bad owner neglecting a dog and not properly training them.
There are still more terrible humans than dogs.
Just another bad dog with a bad owner magnified by the media.
Here we go again.
Have you ever stopped to wonder, if it's not a problem of that type of dog, why so many "bad owners" seem to have them?
You really want to claim that those dogs are NOT more dangerous than other dogs? Really?!?
Have you seen the stats for pit bull deaths? They are responsible for more deaths than ALL other types of dog COMBINED!!!
