2) I know people who earned their engineering degrees at Southern and are working in industry.

No. I am not going to bother my coworkers. Perhaps I may joke with some peers who graduated from Tech if I ever run across them.

But I dont plan on always posting about this issue, especially once I make things become what they should be.

The whole problem is how you structured the question.

If you simoly ask, whats the OT's opinion on how hard or easy grad school was to undergrad, that would have been fine. But your whole tone made you seem like a pompous a-hole who graduated from Georgetown undergrad and is now at Harvard or Yale, not La Tech to Southern. Whether you meant it or not facts are facts homie.

I know La Tech has a respected engineering department, I would hope so at this point. Grad school is grad school, so I wont even really harp on the Southern thing, but there is not a single person that will believe you that your grades were very good at LT, relatively speaking.

My subject line is usually short because I assumed people would be less inclined to answer a thread with a long subject line.

As for the question itself, I assumed that most of the audience knows me and just gave the basic info about myself for those who do not know my thread history.

I never bothered to mention my grades from LaTech. I have stated that they are not the best grades and I was not the best student. I think that should be humble enough.

But in the end, what makes you an engineer (or any professional for that matter) is passing the course work required from your institution. I am currently doing that, so I can disregard the criticism any department or person who disagree with my educational decision.

Myopic is a better word. Along with high maintenance seeking validation of your education, ad nauseum.

You are not an engineer. You are a student.

Work the field. Get your PE credentials. Elegantly solve complex problems on location for industry. Get shite done that people pay you well for and MAYBE then you are an engineer.

Until then you should post less. Especially about school. It's like your borderline some on the spectrum. Or over the line.

Nobody would think you are cool at this point. Strange yes. But not cool.
