How do we know it’s a Nazi salute? It could be a Roman salute.

Right? As in “Hail Caesar.”

So are you backtracking the whole "they were poking fun at an authoritarian figure who reminded them of Hitler, ruling the classroom with an iron fist" argument and going all-in on "they were all students of history paying homage to Augustus?"

There's a reason that the salute is outlawed in MULTIPLE European countries, and it's not because of Rome. Stop trying to justify a shitty action by some dummy shitheads who knew exactly what they were doing when they did it.

Progressives don’t have a sense of humor, therefore humor doesn’t exist.

Is this fricking guy for real?

By the way, we are not a European country where they have controls on speech. We are America, and their action is free speech.

The state will lose in court.

Them being dismiss probably got more to do with Jewish people than Black people...

Anything Nazi seems to piss them off more than us...

But yeah I think they should all be fired ... anybody who ever heard of WW2 should know better

Right. Imagine firing people for an innocuous salute to their instructor. The knuckle daggers run on emotion and fear.

Come on dude, stop embarrassing yourself. Don’t be such a pussy that you are offended by proxy for people who this doesn’t affect.

I’m saying that whatever the reason, it’s obviously an in joke and not some nefarious endorsement of National Socialism. My Jewish friend and I make Nazi jokes constantly. Because being able to laugh at something robs it of its power.

But I’ll be sure to make sure to let him know you are offended on his behalf at the next Passover.

Pretty sure everyone knows it was a joke.

Pretty sure everyone knows that inappropriate jokes will you get fired.

I'm continually astonished at the complete lack of awareness some adults exhibit.

Isn't it grand that you can burn the American flag but make a Nazi salute in jest and you are FIRED.

If I made a holocaust joke at work I’d be fired. Just have the slightest bit of social awareness and you won’t have these problems.

Making a joke to your friend in a private setting is a little different than posing for a picture doing a Nazi salute while you're wearing the uniform of the State agency that just hired you.

If you don't have good enough judgement to know that's a stupid thing to do then that's probably not somebody you want working for you.

I would love to hear you defend this government employee doing a Nazi salute in their uniform to a WW2 vet

Jesus Christ, it’s not 1947. The Nazis have been lampooned more than anyone else, and you think no one can comprehend that this is a joke. Made with zero seriousness?

The caption shows that this was obviously an inside joke to their leader, not something they were sharing with the world. But of course context be damned.

I know people like you, who take silly things and eliminate the context to make them seem like some nefarious gesture when they know damn well it was just a lark.

no shite dude. No one thinks they’re actual nazis

You can’t make those jokes in the workplace. Everyone knows this and it’s really that simple.

The world was better when more people could take a joke and no one listened to those that couldn’t.
