Yep. Texted him both times and kept him fully updated. Even let him know when the MRI was done, not that the last part matters.

Those can be pretty lengthy.

You likely spent a month going through the process, getting interviewed by everyone to determine if you are a good culture fit. And they kicked you out for taking a couple of days without even seeing how chronic it will be?

Something isn’t adding up.

(Not saying you are lying….but there’s an element to the equation here that you aren’t saying. Perhaps a probationary period that doesn’t allow absences in an early time frame?)

It's a bad first impression. Better to just get rid of you now instead of debating it months from now when you're taking off for a tummy ache

You’re a physical liability on the job. I’d say you have a reason for wrongful termination but I’m sure physical details of the job were given to you.

Naw, it was mostly a people leading position.

Like I said, he doesn’t know me and an unfortunate health issue led to a bad first impression. I don’t blame him.

Burst fracture?
Wtf?
Oh and by the way you don’t deadlift shite. How many discs fused?
And yeah the nerve that fuels sciatica is the one they take care of in the nerve bundle going through your spine.
So frick off liar

Nothing like that. I think the fact that he essentially hired what he thinks is a cripple scared him off.

If I take two days off in the first two weeks of work, he’s gotta be thinking WTF and is this going to be regular.

Bruh that’s not sciatica, that’s an on the job injury which occurred before you were fired.

Sounds like you have a solid workman’s comp and wrongful termination case.. Perhaps a discrimination claim as well since you are a veteran.

Quit licking your wounds and get paid.

I think I'd have done my damnedest to show up in pain and wait for them to tell me to go home. I did that once in my younger years when I had a staph infection. Worked perfectly. I didn't get paid for a few days, but I kept that job until I got promoted later on.

The manager might seem harsh, but it's possible he started off nice and was trampled by dozens or hundreds of employees taking advantage of his kindness and making his job miserable so he has no patience for a surprise excuse anymore.

I gotta agree, in fact IMHO I think we need more quick hooks these days, because from what I see in my industry, employees will push the envelope as much as you allow them to and beyond reason.

I am good with the hard line, may be some collateral damage but from my view not a lot - it will be mostly legit.

There was no way. It was bad enough to go to the ER last Friday. First time I’ve been in my life.

I’m in the corporate world and don’t like working with them. Have to be told to do shite, everything is black and white, etc. I’m generalizing of course.

I can’t disagree there. Lots of compliance requirements in the military. I asked the boss about crane certification for the installers and he said that they just take their chances and will pay the fine if caught. Cheaper that way. I was like, WTF.
