Morris Bart has got to be like 85 years old now

I saw Morris at Rouses a few months ago I didnt recognize him. Looked rough.

One thing Gordon and Morris have in common they both hit the inheritance lottery. No bootstrapping for either.

Gordans father was an excellent lawyer.

Morris Bart bought into a regional area of a prolific national advertising firm.

That is all I have to say on this subject

Jerry was brilliant, hit a ton of long balls, a pioneer.

Had a big monkey on his back though.

I’m so glad we don’t have billboard where I live. Didn’t notice until we came back to Louisiana the first time and realized we hadn’t seen any in months.

Other states don't see this.

If you call either one of these clowns, you either live in government housing or have a home with wheels.

No. Lamar or any other billboard company would not approve it.

That is interesting. I never thought about it until now, but I wasn't sure if there was some type of governing body like the FCC (equivalent of) that dictates what companies are allowed to do.

True story, Gordon has/had first right of refusal on Lamar billboards in Louisiana

When he wants one, he eventually gets it

However, New Orleans isn't a big Lamar market (Lamar doesn't spend big in cities, it spends big on billboards between cities)... NOLA seems kinda split between Clear Channel and Outfront Media

Are you allowed to put anything you want if you buy a spot to advertise? If I wanted to put up a picture of a stripper with her top off.. And that's it.. Is it possible to put that up along the interstate?

No, but years ago, Lamar owned a billboard that somebody paid to put a Hitler quote on... (this was in Hammond)

Lamar took their name plate off the board and posted it without citation

Source... I worked at Lamar for 10yrs and know the guy who designed the board... also went to SLU and saw it in person

Market restrictions...

In San Diego, they have a light restriction for Sea Turtles, so they don't die trying to cross a road instead of the sea

In some areas there are height restrictions so the boards don't restrict scenic views

Then you have the unions up north that create whole new issues... want to put a 3D beer bottle on a bus shelter? Guess what, you need to get a permit to block the entire road for a day, because you have to rent a crane for anything over 6ft, even though the fake bud light bottle weighs 45lbs and can be installed in 30mins

But no let's pay 15 guys $35/hr, rent a crane, shut down a city block, and make sure everyone gets their morning, noon, and afternoon breaks

The other day, I saw a Gordon billboard that stated, “Get the “G” guarantee.”

One day he’s gonna go after Johnny Ginart in Chalmette for using a “G” on his electronic sign that advertises his settlements, like he thinks he owns that letter…

Shameless plug, I’ve sat next to his dad a bunch at Chalmette games, watched him play for the Owls lol
