Are you talking about this summer or are you planning for later?
Degray State Park in southern Arkansas but it's closer to 6 hours away.
Really, most of the Louisiana state parks have good facilities for outdoor stuff (Chicot, Cypremort Point come to mind), but they're going to be hot as hell right now and cabins are probably booked.

Natchez trace has some nice areas too.

Lake Concordia and Lake St. John in the Vidalia/Ferriday area or Lake Fausse Pointe and Cypremort Point in the St. Martinville/NewIberia area are really nice. If your willing to travel longer than 5 hours, Hot Springs, Arkansas is your place.

Check this place out...I stay here from time to time when traveling on business...reminds me so much of summer camp when I was a kid...
nothing fancy at all, but it is relatively inexpensive and your kids will just love it...
resturant on site with pretty damn good food, too...
Lake Tiak O'Khata

Thanks for the rec's and keep them coming. We did Natchez Trace and Tunica earlier this summer.

What about a good old-fashioned Grand Isle vacation? There's a state park where you can go hiking and lots of fishing.
