It's a moving target so that they can pull the "racist" trigger whenever they can. I don't care to play that game anymore.

I mean, if I'm around a few black people and will use a term to describe them, I and I don't think any of us are going to go with "colored people"

If they get offended by that then maybe you need to surround yourself with more intelligent people.

You're still missing the point.

Would you use that term in a work setting, yes or no? I think I know what you do but not sure if you're self-employed or with a firm, but I'm guessing you'd know not to use that term. That's literally all I'm saying.

And something is going to be "offensive" or "taboo" until something is done about it. It's time to put an end to this nonsense.

To take a stand, you should end every conversation from now on, with a "My n***a"

No you weren't.

Everyone knows that's considered faux pas these days.

That's all I was trying to say, I think you did a better job at summing it up more efficiently!

So would an African-American (and of course I use that term loosely) not be offended by being referred to as a "black person" which they are clearly not, but be offended by being referred to as a "brown person"? And they should not be referred to as a colored person, but instead a person of color and that color to which they are okay with being referred to (black) they subsequently are not? I need a drink.

Pretty darn sure that people living in the USA with ancestry recently from Africa wanted to be called known as "colored" in the past. And then that changed to black. And then that changed to African American... and then that changed to... what the frick do they call theirselves now-a-days?

I can't keep up. Well I probably could if a gave a rats arse, but I don't.

If I say black (which is what i usually use) and you are offended oh well.
If I say colored and you are offended. I will laugh because colored means that exact same thing as black!

the difference between "people of color" and "colored people" is that "people of color" respects them as people first, who just happen to have color in their skin.

also "people of color" can refer to most commonly black (African-Americans, and other nationalities), but also all other non-Caucasian shades.

the term "colored people" looks at their skin as their main attribute

I've stopped caring about this stuff. Just done with letting it bother me.

Some article popped up on Facebook written by a black guy saying black people should stop trying to explain racism to white people because white people will never change. All the comments were filled with black people saying racist things about white people. I started to get annoyed and then just said screw it. I just don't care any more.

Oh I get it now. All other non-Caucasian ethnicities are considered colored people ,or people of color. But true Caucasian people are clear? Is that right? That would be odd because it seems to me that the people of color are actually transparent.
