Dating someone with a daughter this age. When with friends, and they are all made up, they definitely look like they could be 18 easily.
But I'll say this, he's a cop, and he's in his unit. He has access to a database. All he had to do was plug her name in and pull up her info. He could immediately find out her age and not have to worry.
If I'm 31 years old, a cop, and about to bang a girl that I don't know that alleges she's 18, there is no way in hell I act on that until I've at least run her in my computer. That was his huge lapse in judgment. He has access to info that you and I don't have.

I can agree with that. Then again, we have no idea what this girl looks like. She may have been developed enough that he thought there is no way she's underage.
Like I and others have said, the way girls develop varies, oftentimes a 14 yr old girl will look much older. And nowadays they dress and fix themselves up to look older. And then there's the matter of personal grooming. Even adult women wax or shave their vag to where it looks like they've not even hit puberty. So you can't even use that as a gauge any more.

It doesn't matter if she looked 30 and it doesn't matter if she said she was 18. It's on you to know for sure. Putting your dick in an underage girl isn't the same as buying her a beer or a pack of cigarettes(even though I'm pretty sure being mislead doesn't excuse you there either). I don't care how hard it is to verify. If you can't figure out for sure then just don't have sex it's not that hard. It's not like this is something he needed to do, it was just a piece of tail not his daily medication. If it's worth it to you to risk it then be ready to face the consequences.

The fact that he did her when he was on duty, and in his unit, tells you that his judgment in general is pretty terrible. No telling what kinda trouble the dude would have gotten in in the future, regardless of this incident.

Plug in her fake name in the data base. Unless there's an 18 year old that looks just like her, that lives in the same area, it's easy to see if she's lying.
