Feels like Top Golf is the only novelty place like this with staying power. Axe throwing, arcade bars, etc. all seem like to close left and right.

I love the idea of a simulator bar but when it’s $30-$40 per hour (from what I recall) plus drinks and food the sim better work well and start on time

I book online and have never had to wait more than a few minutes. The food and drinks are overpriced and not very good. I just go do my races and then go somewhere with better food or drinks since you can't bring your drink ins in the sim area anyway. The equipment is pretty nice and the 610 loop race is fun a fun novelty.

Doesn’t have to be Trump. Just someone that isn’t a leftist lunatic that favors criminals and freeloaders.

They closed because they were always empty and blamed crime. The area is fine.

The current mayor is pro police and has been a target of leftist politicians. You are promoting this bar owner’s nonsense so he can peddle his failing business to the suburbs.

He’s still a democrat, and hasn’t implemented any policies, nor reversed any, that would make a difference.

I’m not promoting shite. Just calling it for what it is. The entire real estate market is driven by people being just far enough from the city to escape the consequences of dumbass leftist policies whilst simultaneously being close enough to be able to enjoy the amenities of the city.

Harris County Democrats have already announced that they will not endorse him in the future, I can't think of a better endorsement than that.

Whitmire loses Democrat endorsements

The business model is shvt and the owner is just blaming crime. I go to that CFA, HEB, Target, and Catalina coffee shop nearby all the time and I’ve never seen that establishment with business. This topic is just further proof that yall need to touch fricking grass rather than drink fear copium from the internet.

So the owner is lying about the car break-ins and robberies?

And yet I know people that will still vote Democrat. No matter how many people are killed/harmed by their dumbass policies.

How much does party play in local politics? I know for a bigger city its a bigger factor than in smaller cities, but a bar that is targeting people who like a specific sport closing down because of crime... so they say.. Is this really about political parties?

This is the correct answer.

SH is a nice area.

I’m sure there were break ins. I doubt it was a primary driver for the place closing. I can rattle off the businesses right by there that were open before it and are still there

That's good to hear, because my girlfriend's best friend and her fiancé just bought a condo over there.

I haven’t lived and worked in Houston in a long time. Interesting crime is that high there given its proximity to some really nice neighborhoods.

Used to office in the Galleria area, things must have gone downhill.

Sawyer Yards
definitely a “transition” neighborhood; poor folks in 2 bed room homes from the 1950’s living by $1,000,000 three story townhouses built 10-15 years ago. Obviously as time goes on developers buy the small homes, build More townhomes and eventually you get a gentrified neighborhood, but that does take some time.

So, not shocked about the crime.

We do a “Thanksgiving cookout for the homeless” a few blocks away at a local church there.
