I'll be in Houston next Saturday to Wednesday. Where are some good places to play golf? I'd like to play a couple nice courses, but I'd rather not pay more than about 80 dollars. TIA

There are a ton of public courses but on a weekend prices range from 70-200. I like greatwood and sugar creek out in sugarland, both are around 80, decent courses. Tour 18 up North of Houston is awesome, but is a bit more expensive.

Wildcat golf club is my personal favorite. It has 2 courses also and I believe costs around $90, but I haven't been there in a long time

Under $80? Your best bets are probably Memorial Park, Wildcat, Cypresswood Tradition, or Tour 18.

I'll be in midtown. I didn't even realize I could play golf club of Houston. It seems to be about 120 during the week, which is a pretty good deal

Great course within OP's budget. Even the cypress course is good.

It's always in great shape, but call ahead and ask about construction. They usually do work on it during that late summer. I've played there before when entire holes were under construction, bunkers were being redone, shitty temporary greens in play, etc.

Stuff like that has to be done, but it sucks if you pay $125-150 + a caddie and parts of the course are unplayable.

Agree, good example is Kelly Plantation charging full rate when they have temp greens until September so call first...... But GC of Houston Tournament Course is the best of the best in the area.

Also hit up MNCScripper and see if $Mike is at Wildcat yet, he saved MNC's life a few weeks ago

Check out golfnow.com for any hot deals. I saw GC of Houston for about $60 on there the other day.
