for me, I tend to get too close to the ball and that causes me to pull the shot or hit it fat. What, if any, are the little things you struggle with? What are you working to fix?

I struggle with yelling "frick" 4 times a hole and telling myself that I'll never pick up my clubs again about 7 times a round. I always come back for more abuse by the next weekend though.

You sound like my dad. For something that's supposed to be fun, he sure did come home mad a lot. That's why I never had any interest in learning the game.

I swing and miss, and I routinely frick my chipping. I cannot judge distance.

Keeping everything about the game in proper perspective. It's just a game.

Yeah, I think that's most of us no matter what level of play. Right now I'm trying to get consistency down and play some local tournaments so any little glitch is huge.

My drives. I'm personally satisfied fundamentally almost everywhere else. I've always been meh off the tee. I'll hit it straight for 6 holes and then i'll rough it for the next 6.

Figuring out the right club to use that's not a driver or putter.

Played baseball all my life so I naturally want to get inside the ball rather than strike down on it. I can get a draw on my wedges and 9-5 iron or so, but with those longer clubs there's no telling if I'll get a good ball or slice the shite out of it. Man I miss playing golf

I have an absolutely horrible slice with w driver and longer clubs that I just cannot shake.

Following through my chips. Typically just hit it and stop the forward progression. Ends up skulking the ball most of the time.

Ok. So I'm not a pro, but I have been playing for 20+ years and currently a 5 handicap cause I can't put, so take my advice for what it's worth.

The baseball swing is exactly the same thing but on a diagonal instead of horizontal plane(go look at swings from each on YouTube). You want to come from the inside, and let centripetal force and momentum carry your swing out and down. That hitting down on the ball is a bullshite swing thought that screws up more swings than it fixes. Like I said in the OP about distance to ball, I think if you got that down you'd be good to go.
