Maybe I’m just an idiot but I just learned a few storms ago that hurricanes are a result of the Earths heat slowly migrating to the poles from the Equator.
It all kinda makes sense that the Equator would be hottest and the poles would be coldest, plus the storms all seem to start around Africa or the Caribbean so I can grasp the atmospheric understanding of it, but I just never knew that before.

You've heard of the jet stream?
It's actually the area with the greatest thermal clash in the troposphere (our level of the atmosphere) between the poles and equator. It's why it gets pushed north in the summer and dives down in the winter.
