Wanting to take a lil getaway with wife for anniversary, anything to do there besides Alamo and riverwalk? How good are these two things?

You can knock them out in under an hour.

Riverwalk is pretty cool but a bunch of crappy restaurants so do your research.
The Alamo is cool but it takes all of 2 minutes to soak it up.
There is a safari park on the outskirts of town that is very cool. You drive around and feed all there weird animals.

Seriously, you're better off going to Austin.

There's 3 or 4 other missions in San Antonio other than the Alamo if your into that sort of thing. All are pretty much the same though.

go to JW Marriott. Park your car and never get in again until you go home. great food, atmosphere, golf, spa

There's lots of great music venues and a good variety of music, salza/tejano shows are especially fun.

This.
The San Antonio Riverwalk is a giant tourist trap. I don't get people's fascination with that place.
The Alamo is cool, especially if you're a history buff.
If you change your mind and head to Austin instead, check out staying in the Hill Country as well. You'll have a balance of city and nature with this trip.

Mexican Market and eat at La Margarita. Get yourself a couple Clay Skulls and shite from the market while you're there.

Why not go to Austin? Better restaurants, people and just shite to do.

There is a sweet bar down town.. U should check it out

The Alamo is something you can just walk up to, glance around, and go do something else. It's just a little old thing in the middle of the city.
