Joe - There is a pretty big swing in the honey crisp quality and size. Lately they are smaller and taste out of season.
Hope the fall ones will be better.

The produce manager told me that the reason for the smaller size was a corporate decision to have more uniformity in the sizes of all the apples they offer.
He also told me the apple suppliers have developed methods to store them for up to a year.
