JOTD

A man dies and goes to hell. Once there, he finds that there is a different hell for each country, so he tries to seek out the least painful one.
At the door to German Hell, he is told: "First they put you in an electric chair for an hour. Then they lay you on a bed of nails for another hour. Then the German devil comes in and whips you for the rest of the day."
He does not like the sound of that, so he checks out American Hell, Russian Hell and many more. They are all similarly gruesome. However, at Nigerian Hell a long line of people is waiting to get in. Amazed, he asks, "What do they do here?"
He is told: "First they put you in an electric chair for an hour. Then they lay you on a bed of nails for another hour. Then the Nigerian devil comes in and whips you for the rest of the day."
"But that's the same as the others," says the man. "Why are so many people waiting to get in?"
"Because of the power cuts, the electric chair does not work. The nails were paid for but never supplied, so the bed is comfortable. And the Nigerian devil used to be a civil servant, so he comes in, signs his time sheet and goes back home for private business."

Good morning, folks.

Gainesville and Jacksonville are getting snow and stuff, but none down this far. The previous FL record was 4" at Milton, FL in 1954. That was smashed Tuesday.

Down here, we have coffee and 40 degrees.

Morning all. Not usually in here but woke up at 3:30 to check on everything around the house and haven’t gone back to sleep yet! Can’t believe it’s supposed to hit the low teens. Currently 17. Hoth.

Morning everyone, AccuWeather is telling me it’s 5 outside right now. It’s 67 in here. I think I’ll just stay in here.

It got MUCH colder than forecast. Knew something was wrong when we got home and the snow squeaked.

Tossed thermostats outside. Currently at 3, 5, 5

This good morning is about to be a good night.

Been outside aince midnight messing with copper hose bibs...

As soon as I get three egg sandwiches and a bowl of extremely spicy ramen in me... I'm dead to the world.

The big rain with that last hurricane caused flooding at the back. It kilt the Canadian's avocado tree and her chocolate habanero bush. I was dehydrating those and grinding them in a pepper mill but am almost out. They were one of the hottest things I ever tried.

According to my iPhone it’s -1 degrees here in Acadia Parish. I’m not sure what to make of that.
