What kind of jail time are illegals with fake IDs, SS#, etc, getting?

I’m guessing not much, if any.

Start putting them in prison and deporting them will solve that.

Hell no, we don't need to be spending any more money on illegals. Ship their asses out of here.

Catch them again, 30 years hard labor cleaning up the trash left by homeless people.

You realize the social security numbers belong to someone, right? They aren’t just made up.

They are guilty of multiple felonies.

Identify theft, fraud, etc

Not trying to sound like an a-hole or anything but usually a CEO of a large business has no idea who HR is hiring.

Sure, if it’s a small local business but a major company with hundreds of employees… the CEO probably has no idea who’s working in those positions

That's bull. They know exactly what they are doing. They just don't talk about it. Willful ignorance.

They have like 250 employees, the large majority of them being in these positions

This isn’t the CEO of Walmart not knowing who’s running the check out in Hammond

They detained nearly 25% of the employees today and you think this guy had no idea?

Nope. Had a front row seat growing up in Sioux City in the 80s when IBP broke the unions.

"Don't throw rocks at me, I don't scab at IBP!" was the bumper sticker of the times.

I cannot tell you enough how when that happened "The Beef" brought in illegals by the truckloads, suppressed wages in the entire region, and turned the cities and towns they were in to crap.

Sioux City, Storm Lake, Waterloo in Iowa to name a few.

I had uncles who worked at IBP in the 70s. Great jobs. High paying jobs. Lots of money in the region. Went to crap.

This one kind of hits home for me.

ETA - for those that don't know, Tyson bought IBP. Also, Tyson and the other major ag companies are neck deep in this. If it's not outright hiring illegals it's importing H2A workers by the truckloads, working the piss out of them, then turning them loose on our towns and cities where they remain as illegals.

The Ag Corporations need cleaned up if the illegal immigration issue is to be solved

Damn. That sucks. I always figured that was still a union plant. Like you said the big thing ove noticed is the H1Bs from Mexico getting worked then dumped.

I always liked the Sioux City area but it does have a run down feeling to it. When I worked for BNSF and did the Sioux line from Lincoln to Sioux City they'd always call it sewer city. I liked it because the holiday inn they put us in was right by the casino. I only go through once or twice a year now on the way to Okoboji for ice fishing.

Probably how my SS number was stolen.

I bet there is a good percentage of users of Tigerdroppings that don't even know that their SS number has been stolen and used.

Improve working conditions and pay/benefits and they will.

You can't just have shite conditions/pay and then proclaim "Americans are spoiled and won't do these jobs!".

Its like working an electrical engineer 80hrs a week for 40k and year and then claim we needs pageets because Americans "don't want to work".

Agreed

But people don't want to hold business owners or corporations accountable for working conditions

If these people tried to unionize the right wing would rather spit on them than support their cause

Cool, you know the area. The funny part is Sioux City has made tremendous strides since the 80s and has really cleaned itself up. It's not a bad place to live, though it could be even better.

It’s 2025, we don’t need unions. Unions were creating to protect the public. The public can do that themselves with how quickly information is disseminated

I'm a rare conservative Republican that is pro-Union for this reason. Unions actually do serve a purpose. Unions wouldn't put up with hiring illegals and exploiting workers.

They’d be just as scummy though. Both can be bad, they aren’t mutually exclusive

I work at a union plant. I get low cost health insurance, a good 401k match a pension (its mediocre but better than nothing) and my pay is almost double what id get at a non-union plant. I started working on the floor entry level production and now im almost done being trained as an electrician. shite deal

Plus my schedule is solid. 3-4 12 hour shifts a week with 3-4 days off every week.

Bruh, the general public working class doesn’t have the time to do the job of good union leaders while still working their 9-5. You can’t just read some tweets and go protest with a sign.

A lot of good takes in here…

I saw the video and it seemed like the CEO was fine with everything, abiding by the letter of the law in terms of handling the raid. That said, as a South Texan I can’t just spot illegals since the Hispanic population is so large down here.

After reading some of the comments from our posters near the action, you would assume this CEO is just playing dumb. But if he followed the legal procedure and the workers came up clean, can you still hold his feet to the fire in court?
