Tired of the smearing, the "third level cleaning" not cleaning.. Anyone have preferences of Laser Printers over the Ink Jets? Not a lot of printing demand here at the house, but want the blasted thing to print when I say print and have not have to bow down to it. What say ye?

Just what kind of printing are you trying to do?

Laser. I can't stand inkjets. They really screw you with the ink on those. Laser might cost a few more bucks but longterm you won't feel like they are raping you with constant ink replacements.

Printing companies are one step above used car dealers. I hate them. Stay away from color unless absolutely necessary.

I don't have enough knowledge on the best to get. Sure plenty of folks will chime in with good options.

You're feeling it aren't you? That feeling you get when you are trying to get out of a fricky situation, but no matter what you do, you know deep down that you are about to get fricked and there is nothing you can do about it. Just buy a HP All in One for under $100 at Best Buy. Buy extra ink. And when that shite runs out, just buy a new printer. It's cheaper that way.

Those cheap all-in-one printers are the absolute worse. Trying to do several things and doing nothing well. If you're not going to go expensive, then go super cheap. I downgraded to the most bottom-of-the-line ink jet because I "just wanted the damn thing to print is all."

Longterm, a color laser printer is the answer.

Buy toners off amazon, but don’t buy the cheapest.

Those have the quality of a illegal aliens refilling cartridges with crayon shavings.

I guess you need to define cheap. I've purchased 3 all in one lasers each for about $300. Never had a problem with any of them and 2 still work at the 15 year mark. Although not sure if I can still get the ink cartridges anymore.

You can easily buy a serviceable laser printer for $300-$350

That prints 35-40 pages a minute, copies, and does top load scanning

And you will get about 10,000 paged per cartridge

The other poster recommended one of those $100 all-in-one jobs. Been there and done that. Never again.

You're better off with a $25 inkjet printer.

I'm guessing a $300 all-in-one is probably going to be ok.

And Sams fills cartridges for less than half the cost of a new one. Refilled aren’t the best, but wtf are you printing?

I have a Canon inkjet all in one printer. I just get the generic ink cartridges on amazon. Pretty cheap and never noticed a difference in print quality.
