It's written law. That's what.

But when you kick an officer in the face after refusing to follow direction after being found drunkenly passed out in your car, why waste the tax dollars
I remember when I too believed that LEO would never lie, that no one was ever falsely accused of a crime, and that there was no ulterior motives for the criminal justice system to exist.

Why was she arrested for drunken driving when she was parked?
Is a car the wrong place to pass out? Better than on the ground imo.

So you believe that simply being accused of a crime should be grounds to lose your house, car, life savings, bank account, etc?
Ever heard of the Spanish Inquisitions?

We're forgetting something here. A very key piece of information.
If she listened to the cop the first time, she wouldn't have a battery charge.
Further, if she wasn't breaking the law to begin with or engaging in an activity that could be construed as such, she wouldn't have been pulled. End of story. She put herself in this position

I am sorry I must have missed the part in the story where she plead guilty or there was a trial and she was convicted.
Maybe you could link it for me?

Why does someone who can't control themselves with alcohol need a car? You like alcoholics killing people in car crashes? fricked up.

black people can't scratch their nuts and we got white women cartwheeling during arrests.

When we imagine how a city or town seizes private property from citizens in order to hand it over to developers for special projects, we often think about eminent domain. Governments can force citizens to sell them their property (often for much less than it's worth on the market). While eminent domain was supposed to be used solely for public works projects (roads, schools, et cetera), the infamous Kelo v. City of New London Supreme Court decision set a legal precedent allowing governments to use it to hand over property to private developers for big projects

He was talking about the govt seizing property from people not convicted of anything. Like I said there was once a presumption of innocence in this country.

what if she had $1k in cash in the car. should the government be able to steal that, too?

So, you are saying she was asking for it?

apparently she wasn't driving. And government theft of property shouldn't be defended in any case.
