I agree about laying down when having blood drawn. I've passed out more times than I want to admit. I just tell them now that I pass out when having blood drawn and I need to lay down. They have no problem taking me into an exam room to lay down. Last time when I laid down it did not phase me at all.

Are you holding your breath while waiting for the blood to be drawn? You may not realize you're doing this, but that was my problem. I now always lay down and focus on my breathing while they take it - never had the problem again. FWIW I used to faint every time, including one time with convulsions like you mentioned.

Well I was in the middle of talking to the nurse about someone we both knew, then I mentioned it's starting to hit me. I remember her saying really???
And then all of a sudden there is nurses and a doctor standing around me. I told her I get woozy after 4-5 vials, guess it surprised her after me flailing like a fish after only 2. So I wouldn't have been holding my breathe since I was talking. And nurses story was just like I remembered right before I blacked out.

Yeah you're having a vagal response. Don't sweat it. Started happening to me in my early 20s. Was dating a girl and she decided that a good date would be to donate blood. I didn't even make it to the draw, I nearly conked out when they pricked my fricking ear.
She broke up with me not long after. I never found out why.
On another occasion, I hit the floor in the elevator after having a TB stick done. The people who were waiting at the bottom got an awesome shock. I stood up and walked out.

Good story, TB test, shots, and glucose tests never have bothered me. I felt a little better after my coworkers, or at least some, admitted to same problem (maybe just to make me feel better) Didn't help one of coworkers was there. I started an IV on a guy once while on the monitor. Young healthy guy. He said "I got problems with needles" I hear it all the time so I lower his head of the bed to make sure he can't slump over. He STILL passes out.
I look up at the monitor. An entire strip (or screen) of P-waves. Which means for about 6 full seconds his heart did not beat. His ventricles did not contract. No matter how big of a pussy you are, you aren't a big enough pussy to stop your own heart.
