Getting hit in the back or top of the head with a baseball bat

If you were a child around the age of 4, maybe 5, and you got hit on the top or back of your skull with a full swing by a teenager, what brain damage, if any, could you suffer?
The broca aphasia comment from earlier today has me thinking a kid could seriously been injured from this type of action. I’m only asking because I witnessed this happening to someone. They had a big goose egg on their head afterwards.

Go watch the Appalachia video, that's the result of infant cranial damage.

A blow to the back of the head can be fatal.

Is there one thing in the brain that malfunctions when you have blunt force trauma to the head? I’d imagine it could be many of things that “specifically” happen as a cause

You just get a large knot on your head, stars around your head, and birds chirping.

Someone said it right in regards to the guy getting knocked out with a chair.
"That's how you end up getting coloring books for your birthday from now on."

The kid could also become an acquired savant. Look that up. The brain is a mystery, even in 2020.

Why did you hit this kid?
It could kill him.
It could kill him.

I sent my coaches pitch coach to the hospital with a line drive to the nuts. Always felt bad about that

If you get hit in the back of the head, it could knock out your eyeballs.

That’s what seemed to happen to this kid but I’ve always wondered what unseen things happened. It took a couple days for the knot to go down and he acted the same as before. Of course I only saw him for a few weeks after.
Any possible damage that would not be noticed for awhile?

How hard did he swing?
