I hate BLM, but this one looks bad. Real bad. I can't even begin to understand how a cop could mess up this bad. Watch the video if you have not. Damn.

Am I the only one seeing progress here?

First cop fires at innocent unarmed black man with his hands up

other three cops don't immediately unload 50 rounds into him.

If he was shot dead the cop that shot him would deserve the freaking death penalty

Accountability on both sides needs to occur. But we also need to recognize those gray areas because most of these situations have happened where both sides have a legitimate argument that the other side has some culpability. Our governmental system is 2 party, which in this day and age is outdated and is causing too much polarization of issues.

Disabilities therapist is not as professional a title aa the article would have you believe, speaking as someone who had that "title" as a job description in the past. Has no bearing on whether he's a tPOS or not, as i metany in the proffession who were.

The black dude seems to have been a decent member of society, a stand up guy with a job helping kids.

This isn't who BLM revolves around. Doubt we'll see much hay over this one.

Bottom line, the officer should be fired immediately. The officer is clearly a loose cannon with a gun who fired on a unarmed man and a autistic man.

Thankful for the video, cause I'm pretty sure the cops would have said the guy shot reached for his waistband and they had no other choice but to shoot.

officer should be fired and/or charged with attempted murder and this guy should be paid a handsome sum.

Cops don't need better training they need to be held accountable. If this cop goes to jail for attempted murder it will fix the problem, but as long as there are no consequences you will continue to see this happen.

You're right. One cop in a random part of the country needs to go to jail and the problem will be fixed.

how about some accountability on the part of whoever called 911 saying the autistic guy had a gun? Just because you see someone suspicious looking you cant just call and say something like that, it was a boy with toy car and now you get cops riled up to the point they're scared and shoot this guy.

All in all its frustrating that these brilliant cops cant even tell when a guy is autistic and not capable of following orders, im shocked they didnt shoot the kid too. They have video of the whole incident I dont doubt it, but theyre not releasing it bc the backlash would be insane, look I respect cops as much as anyone but that doesnt change the fact that the majority of them are not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. These are for the most part cops now because they weren't bright enough to be doctors, engineers, lawyers, etc and its scary because this therapist legit did nothing to even be in a situation that should have escalated to guns being drawn on him. He wasn't even the one supposedly walking around with a gun, that was the big kid next to him

The cops need to admit when they are wrong and in this case they were. I would hope the officer would quit on his own but if not they need to fire him right away, the department needs to apologize and they should give this guy some cash. If they do that right away, which is the right thing to do, things should be ok.

Good. "The Circle of Brotherhood" seems to be a real organization exercising their right to protest. "Who do we serve, our community" is a message I can get behind.

I can understand the police being on edge after recent events. The BR police responded to a 911 call and were ambushed.

I get the police are very nervous about any situation. Even this one, police have to now think this could be a trap.

But with all of that being said the cop that shot the dude messed up majorly. I am glad the dude survived and the other cops did not just shoot because the dumb arse shot his gun.

The dumbass needs to be fired

I'm hoping I just missed your sarcasm. There should absolutely be some accountability for people that call in bogus reports, especially when that bogus report involves weapons.

Or are you cool with people being able to call in phony bomb threats, because that's following the same logic.

ETA: This is another video that looks very bad for the cop (not cops plural, just the one that shot). I am curious what happened during the actual shooting, and why the video only shows before and after. Clearly they have the video. I'm having trouble imagining anything that would make this look better, so I'm not sure why they cut it out.
