Georgia Porn law going in effect July 1

Basically, you are required to prove your age/identity anytime you go to a website with any type of adult content. It’s too expensive and burdensome for porn sites to implement, so they simply shut it off for that State.

It also affects social media accounts for children. If you can’t prove your identity, you are treated as a minor….so no more TikTok for minors
I believe this law also makes AI porn of someone else punishable too

It’s like fake IDs when I was a teenager.
Every time I thought I had a good ID from a neighboring state, that state would change and upgrade their IDs and licenses, thus invalidating my fake ID.

Is it though?
The only way to enforce it is to force everyone over 18 to hand over their drivers license to watch porn. Which means there will be a record somewhere, which could be leaked or hacked. It essentially punishes the law abider rather than the law breakers.
And kids are much smarter than their parents, they can watch through a browser like Brave/Tor or just install a VPN to get around the ban. For $5 a month they can get a paid Mullvad subscription that is fast enough to stream whatever and hides it from their parents and carrier/ISP.
These laws are retarded and capitalize on uninformed people who mean well.
A much better option would be an educational campaign to help parents learn how to talk to their kids about the dangers of porn. Nothing wrong with a good wank but having an algorithm trying to get and keep them addicted can lead to some pretty negative consequences
