Coleman better than Yeti at keeping ice

This was done in the sun... but hey, it could have been the Alaskan sun.

Again, read my other posts in the thread. This is all fine except the coleman doesn't hold ice for 6 days in 90 degree heat in the sun from personal experience and the hinges break off within 6 months and after 3 to 6 months, the cooler doesn't hold ice for a day. I have owned this cooler and it is garbage compared to my bulletproof Pelican cooler that is 6 years old and never had anything mess up on it.

If you choose to buy a cooler every 6 months because you want to save money versus buying one 300 cooler every 10 years, that is up to you.

Depending on the ice, I've had it stay solid in my Coleman up to 9 days opening it 10-15 times a day. Bad ice won't last long in anything but a freezer

I'm no ice chest pumper but will include my experience. We had a K2 and Coleman extreme in cocodrie a few weeks ago. Both stayed in shade mostly, but still hot out. K2 held ice better.
Both would be adequate tho.
I gave the K2 to my father for his bday. I do not own an expensive ice chest, standard igloo only, FOR NOW.

Trying to figure out why people need a cooler that damn expensive; is ice $100 a pound and you need to protect it? Buy a $40 igloo and then buy another bag of ice. Boom!!

Oh and people really put ice cooler stickers on their vehicles? Glad I'm not a douche.

A case of beer typically last me about 3-4 hrs at the beach or on the boat. the cheapest cooler that achieves that goal wins

Any cooler will last 2-3 months and keep beer cold for 3-4 hours.

If that's all you need, but a Styrofoam ice chest for $3.99.

I can throw the Yetis in a boat or RV, stand on 'em, sit on 'em, and never worry about them tearing up or leaking.
