I will definitely take the invite.
Dear Doctors, The next time you don't return my phone call concerning one of you patients you might be sorry. I don't call you just to chat. Oh, I forgot, I don't have to put up with your type anymore because I am retired!

Doctors aren't the only ones in the medical profession who have a ton of paperwork to do. Get over it.

180k salary. Leave the clinic at 5 every day. You docs piss me off with all your whining and I married one.

Yeah that seems like a pretty simple solution. If you want to start seeing prople at 8:00 then schedule the first at 7:45
Posted on 1/18/17 at 8:37 pm to NCNurse
I'm guilty of waiting and showing up to the doctor with a few items to address all in the same visit. If it was as simple as calling up and setting an appointment the next day and walking right up and seeing the doctor, then yeah. I'd come on separate visits for separate issues.

Most GPs and internist aren't coming close to 180k

We do our best to and that's why we only say 15 minutes.
Front desk stuff aside:
I can get a 20 y/o established patient with no significant past medical history that has URI symptoms roomed in 5 minutes.
A 84 y/o scheduled for a Medicare Annual Wellness Exam that has multiple chronic conditions and is taking 10+ prescription medications can take 20 or more minutes to room.
If I had my way, older/Medicare and Well Child patients in the morning and adult appointments in the afternoon. I would love it if the patient can come right at 8 am, have no line at the check in desk (and we have 3 people checking patients in) get right to the back and see the doc in 5 minutes. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. I wish it did b/c I really care about our patients--most of them ;)
Nash was preaching!

Sadly healthcare has become a volume business where the provider of the service has no control of his/her reimbursement rates. With ever increasing overhead and bureaucracy providers are simply forced to see more patients in less time.
Are you saying you can't pick your patients? I find that hard to believe. Why not only have 300 patients and charge them $200 a month plus $10 a visit. They would get much better primary care than with normal insurance for a far cheaper cost and never have any wait times.

I guess it depends on the part of the country because she sure is.

I think you need to read my post again. I never said they were the only ones that had to deal with paperwork. I was pointing out how redundant most of it is and that takes up time that be better spent caring for patients.
Glad I don't have to deal with your piss poor attitude. I'm sure your colleagues rejoiced when you retired.

Blah blah blah.
Had a bad day at work? I get it, you have to deal with junkies and trash, but did you think you would be dealing with classy upscale folks and nothing else? When you decided to do what you do for a career, you should have been aware of what you were getting in. No one cares about your boo hooing.
Answer me this. Why do I have to wait 30-40 in the back room before the doctor comes see me? When I have gone to the doctor, it took less than 15 mins once the doctor came in, he diagnoses problem, wrote a prescription and I was out. So how does he not see me at the time he was scheduled to see me?

I work in a rural area and care for the patients here. I provide both inpatient and outpatient care to my patients at the cost of also accepting unassigned patients through the hospital. I deliver babies and do surgery. Unless I want to drastically restrict my practice to clinic only, no ob, no hospital, and turn my back on the people of this community in need, no I can not just select my patients. They simply do not have the 210 per month per person to be seen on top of any meds, and tests I may order. They can not pay for that and insurance to cover imaging, procedures, and hospitalizations. And they can't pay for those things out of pocket either.
Essentially, you are describing concierge practice and it does work in selected communities.

Because he spent those 30-40 minutes dealing with the bullshite he described in the OP. You helped get his day back on track by not being full of bullshite.

Obviously by your pretentious posts in this thread. Have you ever made a mistake during the duration of your time practicing that your willing to say was completely your fault?
Who I am and what I do is not greater than at least 14 other docs in this county alone. I didnt post descriptions to impress, just to state facts.
Sure I have been wrong many times. I have chased a red herring or three, I have missed the gorilla in the room at least twice, I have been dismissive when I should have been attentive, and attentive when I should have been dismissive. Never have those errors occurred when I wasn't attempting to do my best for my patients.

Is it hard to poop with your head shoved that far up your own arse?
