Part of what you sign on for. Do it before or after you schedule clinic. Hire a staff person.
You are a genius. No one has ever thought of that before...
Part of the peer-to-peer is that it has to be the ordering physician talking to a physician from the insurance company.
And in most cases, the insurance docs only work from 9-5.

They round every day. Sometimes it's simple and sometimes there are complications.
If docs made their schedules to accommodate everyone on time, they'd be seeing significantly fewer patients and then people would be screaming about a lack of access and increased time before an appointment could be scheduled.

Let the market work itself out
I know the govt would have to step out first but I can dream.

Nope, sorry, they don't and they can't warn you while you're waiting on them.
Yeah, you can. Here's how you do it.
Mr. Smith, I need you at the courthouse at eight. Bring a book, because the judge is going to be late probably. When we get there, I am going to check in with the clerk and get a feel for when you will be up. Then I will tell you. Then you can head to a coffee shop or restaurant for breakfast. Or I can set you up at my office so you can work on wireless. Keep you cellphone on you, because I will text you when it is getting close. Or my paralegal will.
If by chance the judge calls you earlier than I expect, I will approach the bench and explain. The judge knows me, and I know the judge. I have credibility. So the judge will cut me slack.
See, that's how you do it.

Then fricking tell me that when you walk in the room two hours late, jackass.
But I really don't believe you anyway. And if the insurers are giving you so much static that you have to spend two hours with them on the phone at 9 am, schedule me for seven. Or maybe you got flagged because you are ordering a bunch of bullshite.
All you are really saying is that I wait on you for lengthy periods of time because you can't or won't get your shite together better.

Yeah man, have a 5 minute pre-appointment conversation with each patient. That's how you move things along and keep your clinic on time.

What you described almost never happens.

Comparing Europe to America in terms of patient population is like comparing apples to elephants. Obesity, noncompliance, and general lack of personal responsibility is out of control.
Defensive medicine, govt beurocracy, archaic medical records, arbitrary price-inflation of medication are all huge problems. But fixing all of these issues will never make our statistics looks as good as Norway because of the large percentage of fat, lazy, irresponsible, noncompliant, entitled Americans who have been brainwashed into thinking healthcare should be free.

Ease up there, happy jack.
There is an absolute amount of time you spend on patients. You spend that amount whether you see them promptly or not.
I am not asking you to spend a MINUTE more in patient care time. I AM asking you to get it together or figure out something so that I don't have to sit in your lobby for two hours. I AM asking you to come up with a system that tells me at you are running late.
If you know at eight that your rounds are running an hour late, text your office to tell your patients. Then the guy scheduled at nine knows he doesn't need to be there until ten.
And if you can't do that better, you are arrogant or dumb or both.

I bet you don't bitch about waiting for a table at a mediocre restaurant or in a line at an amusement park as much as you do waiting for your doctor. If so, your priorities are backwards.
You lob low brow insults at everyone who responds to you in this discussion. Maybe the doctors make you late because you're simply a disagreeable person.

Listen angry little man, I don't care what you believe.
I was trying to give you a little insight into the problems that physicians deal with on a daily basis that lead to delays.
I'm not advocating for delays. As you've mentioned it's a very imperfect system, and most of us are doing the best we can.

So why do docs schedule 8am appointments on those days?
Do you think doctors have control over people getting sick in the middle of the night and thrown into the hospital?

I almost never have to wait for my Internist, Gastroenterologist, or Dermatologist. Maybe you need a different doctor.

Believe it or not, I believe you.
Here is what I really think. I think doctors' lives suck. I think patients are difficult and whiny. I think the reimbursement system is bewildering and incredibly inefficient.
Here is what I also think. Office management practice for most doctors is poor. I think most doctors can do far, far better at making wait times shorter.
All of the things you doctors have mentioned are valid reasons why I must sometimes wait in an office for medical care. I really do know that. But I also think that without doubt y'all can do better.
End troll.

Fine, but just like you and your doctors there are others and their attorneys where long waits happen.

The only arrogance I've seen in this thread is from the guy on the outside--who really has no fricking clue--mocking and condescending the guys who are actually involved.
If I were truly that arrogant and dumb, I'd have just been an attorney.
