Any of you baws no what this means or how to fix it?

Mine did the same today after ~16 hours of running. Turned it off for an hour, then pressed Auto and it fired up and haven’t had an issue since. Not sure what cause it since at the time we had very little load on it. Unit is basically brand new- installed last year and has 7 hours total on it heading into this outage.

It means that the safety system is not seeing the generator engine get up to speed. Could be that the sensor is bad or could be the engine is not getting up to speed.
Is it doing it when it first starts or after running for a while?

Engine not spinning fast enough… most likely starved for fuel or overloaded.

Probably low gas pressure, sometimes you can pull the cap off the regulator and turn it up a bit and get it to 60hz

You know you are supposed to change the oil and filter after the first 25 hrs of runtime?

quote:Yes, oil and filter were changed last month with its annual maintenance. So rather than at 25 hrs it was changed at 7 because it only ran for 7 hours in its first year

I can’t personally help but wanted to say that Generac is a garbage generator. Most people buy them because they are cheaper but you would be better off spending the extra 1k to get Kholer or Cummings than having to deal with these issues. I have a 30kw Cummings and that thing is a reliable beast.

Happen to be a 20kw expert cause of Laura
Issue is the stepping motor part # 20190725
If you pull back the rubber gromet you should see a little circuit board under it, you can take your ohm meter and test it.
Here is how you test it LINK

Only other things it could be is low gas pressure or spark plugs.
So if it is the stepping motor, have to change it. It's easy but gonna be hard to find.
After you change it, if it's not raining
Keep top open with rag on control board to keep moisture off
Keep front panel off
Plug fan in and have it blowing on it
shite down every afternoon for 2 hours
Check oil daily, change every 72 hours.
Check air filter daily
Good luck. Air cooled engines don't work great in Louisiana heat.

possibly low pressure in the gas line?
Posted on 8/31/21 at 1:33 am to diat150
After running for about thirty minutes. The neighborhood were in a few of there’s are going off n on as well from what I can hear. Could it be a gas pressure issue since everyone is using them?

Almost 100% percent gas pressure.
