Find Orion, then run your eyes up perpendicular from the belt of Orion to the 2 bight stars not far away, that will be Castor and Pollox of Gemini, just continue to look in that general direction.

Note in the picture below they are close to the horizon, right now they should be fairly high in the sky kinda south west right now.

I've seen 1.

I was hoping for a bit more frequency than that, but the 1 I saw was pretty cool.

I have no idea where Orion is or even what I am supposed to be looking for. I just downloaded a free star gazing app and about to go outside and try again. It's cold though, so if I don't see something within a few minutes I'll lose interest

i've been seeing about 5 every 3 or 4 minutes.

Maybe you guys would be able to see them if you got off your phone.

Crystal clear but I’m in heavy light pollution. I saw two really bright ones before my neck started to hurt and decided to come back inside.

I saw 2 or 3 in a 30 second span while driving down a dark desert highway out here by the Rio.

Wondered if there was a meteor shower or if they were BP drones. Thanks for clearing it up.

Every single sky event for the past 5 years it has been cloudy for me. It will be crystal clear the night before and the night after the event. Frickin sucks because this was supposed to be a good year for Geminids.

Probably has to do with the massive fire downtown.

The sky opened up for me! BTW Gemini is directly overhead now. I went out and laid down on the dock and used my jacket for a pillow. I saw about a dozen really bright ones (one was cool as it was falling straight toward me so it looked like a star getting bright then flaming out). Then as my eyes acclimated I was seeing dozens of much fainter ones. There was one 3-4 second span it looked like fireworks as maybe 15 or so seems to fly out from the same spot, I had never seen that before. There was still some high altitude haze since the stars weren't as bright as they are on a perfect night but all in all it was very cool.

I went outside after I made that post and the sky cleared up for about an hour for me. I was able to see quite a few and 3 really good ones with green trails. I missed the peak time and still saw more meteors in that short time than I've seen with every yearly shower over last 5 years combined. Pretty impressive.

Years ago I saw a spectaculat meteor shower. I was in the boat with my brother in law, and we’d always leave the dock when it was pitch black. I’d just lay down on the bench seat for the ride, hoping I wasn’t going to die. Saw a shooting star and was like, “Oh that’s cool - never seen one before.” Then saw another, and another, etc. In a 45 minute boat ride, I saw more than two dozen meteors. It was amazing.
One a few years ago was decent, but nothing on that level. Otherwise, haven’t had much luck.
