Vinton Love's I'm pretty sure has the cheapest gas in the State. $2.59.

Let me see if I have this right: The current supply of more expensive blends is being replaced with less expensive blends, so prices rise?

The change over doesn’t happen for a few days, so the government mandates don’t start until September 15th.

quote:

Winter-blend gas starts being sold around September 16th and is sold until about May 31st, though these dates can vary by region. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires gas stations to sell summer-blend gas until September 15th, allowing the switch to winter-blend to begin the next day. This higher-volatility fuel contains more butane, making it easier for your engine to start and run in cold weather, even though it can slightly decrease fuel efficiency and gas mileage.

So price rise is only temporary.

Trump killed refining by flooding the market. at this pace he will kill off American refining for record exports in a few months.

Downvoters agree.

Changing the blends required by the EPA.

Nothing to do with it. Not even that much movement from seasonal RVP shifts.

In Trump’s America the prices of everything are out of control. Never seen an administration so clueless on the economy.

It has been between $2.39 to $2.64 on my weekly commutes between Mandeville/Madisonville to Baton Rouge and Central for 6 months and hasn't changed.

We complaining about gasoline hovering between $2.40-$2.80/gal?
nobody is complaining. Was asking why. Under Trump last term he stabilized fuel and kept it down. This time not so much.

I could pay 10.00 a gal, money is not a thing for me.

This happens after summer fuel prices drop but they don't actually drop.

Adjusted for inflation, gas is considerably cheaper than it was 15-20 years ago. It’s everything else (TVs excluded) that is the issue.

Add bananas to that list. They never really went up the past five years. Strange little exception.

Bananas have always been so cheap that they aren't really a budget consideration though

Bananas are a loss leader, so they shrug off many normal economic pressures.
