Just keep it in a milk jug behind the fridge.

This is silly. Keep it under your bed, near the space heater.

Why not just use natural gas?

Your car can handle bad gas better than any other machine you have.

Don’t buy high octane gas for small engines. It’s harder to ignite, which can make the engine hard to start. This is especially true in cold weather, if your engine is older or has lower compression.

I fill up a 55gal drum with 91, and let that go for one season. If it doesn't get used, I can fit almost all of that in my truck. The rest goes into other, smaller tanks or equipment.

I can store it for a few years in a well sealed drum, so I'm not worried about degradation. I'd only go like a year on gas stored in an open, small container

Make sure you pour some motor oil in it every couple weeks to keep it fresh

I was having a difficult time finding ethanol free gas until a few months ago. Learned that ethanol binds with water and that you can add water to gas and shake it really well. The ethanol binds with the water, and settles to the bottom of the gas can. I would store the gas can upside down and let it set for a day with the water in it then bleed off the water/ethanol. You can see the separation and the amount that comes out was the equivalent of the ethanol content plus the water I put in. I would add a cup of water, and drain off a little more than 5 cups of ethanol/ water.

The biproduct works well as a fire starter. But be careful. . . it is explosive like gasoline.
