Uh, no it isn't. All costs are increasing. You don't have a point here.

uh huh, just like how the cost of beef and chicken increased during covid, yet somehow i never saw that b/c i'm not a dumbass grocery store shopper. Just a bunch of idiot attention facebook dumbasses on here bitching about prices of steaks.

Cheaper than owning a car and paying for your own gas though.

no. it isn't. not even close. again, stop thinking about someone living in downtown new york to make your stupid arse arguement.

quote:

I see public transportation in all sorts of weird rural areas. It won't b e convenient, but it is an option. But like I said, you CHOOSE to not use them.

let me know about this public transportation in Walker, or Thibodaux, or Youngsville, etc.

quote:

If you're only driving 10k miles a year, you live somewhere where public transportation aboslutely is an option There is no consistency in your logic, which isn't surprising.

and there you go showing how stupid you are.
what do you think people in suburban neighborhoods do? drive 30 miles to work, 20 miles to get their kids to school, another 30 miles to go workout or a kids practice? People typically live near work and school. You can do that in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Covington, Thibodaux, Denham, Laplace, Houma, etc. It's not hard to drive less than 30 miles a day. hell the only way you'd drive more is if you work well away from your home, or your kids go to school far away from home, and that's your choice.

I don't even understand what your dumbass is trying to say here.

I'm not.

All of this means you are within 15 miles of a major city that has public transportation that you choose not to use because it's inconvenient.

Look at how silly you're having to make this argument

If you have to resort to not eating anything but the cheapest of the cheap foods because everything else is too expensive, yes, a 30% increase in price for that cheapest of the cheap foods will severely impact you.

that's not the point i was making and you know that, well i say that, but you probably don't so let me explain it to you.
you idiots refuse to accept that there are always cheaper alternatives to what you eat. If you're used to eating beef and it goes up 30%, then find somehting else that's cheaper per pound. Lets say it's eggs. so you eat eggs for your protein instead of beef. Now eggs went up 30% as well, BUT THEY ARE STILL CHEAPER THAN BEEF.

can you dumbasses understand how there are always reasonable alternatives to food, whereas there aren't reasonable alternatives to driving a car with gas for most americans not living in downtown big cities with public transportation?

Companies that do well year over year reward their employees and you somehow have a problem with that?

Liberal logic is awesome.

i'd say i feel sorry for how dumb you are, but i'm not.
enjoy the rest of your day, and thanks for the reminder to not engage in conversations with you again.
I'm going drive my car to bring my kids to practice, but first i'm going to smoke a whole chicken i bought yesterday for $3.63 so it'll be ready when we get back.
I won't be bitching about gas prices, or driving, or the price of food, and i'll be enjoying life. You do the same.

Or with my company, 18% increase in health care cost and 0% cola.

It's happening to millions of people. It's sort of why gas and other goods purchases matter.

If it were just gas, people could figure out how to adapt, but when it's gas, food, insurance, utilities, etc, it becomes a crisis.

See if your buddy that works for Exxon can cover your next fillup. They’ll be getting a nice bonus this year!

The company was doing very well then and experiencing crazy growth and profit. It wasn't a problem. They were making sure they held on to all of their good people. It's cheaper than turnover.

I love how people have no idea how any of this works.
